INAHTA Board Director 2023-2025
AQuAS, Spain

I am a Neurologist, doctor of medicine (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), Master in Public Health (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and since 2020 the director of health technology and quality assessment unit at the Agency for Health Quality and Assessment of Catalonia (AQuAS). I also help the Ministry of Health of Catalonia in decision-making as part of the Health Care Commission for International Agreements and Exceptional Benefits, as a member of the fast-track subcommission (which aims to improve the access of innovation to the National Health System), and as a member of the task force for AI challenges in health.

I am also part of the Spanish Network of Health Technology Assessment Agencies (RedETS), and with the rest of the seven members, we help in decision making through HTA to the Ministry of Health of Spain. Together, we work in an annual planning and we organize meetings and courses to strengthen relationships between agency teams, improve skills in new HTA methodologies and discuss the role of HTA agencies in changing ecosystems.

I have resumed the active participation of AQuAS in INAHTA, collaborating in different learning groups (co-coordinating RWE learning group), being part of workshops and other activities since 2020.

I believe that as part of INATHA, agencies and their members can improve their knowledge and influence through cooperation and contribute to have a positive impact in every National Health System.
