History and Structure
AETS Mendoza was founded by law 9547 in 2024. It is a government health technology agency sited in Mendoza, Argentina. Mendoza it is one of the 24 provinces of Argentina
HTA Activities and Function
Article 5 of Law 9547 describes the functions of the Agency:
The Agency shall perform the following functions:
a) To analyze and evaluate, using criteria of efficacy, safety, effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, equity and budgetary impact, the health technologies used in the Provincial Health System. b) To analyze and evaluate the health, economic and social impact of the incorporation of health technologies, through technical reports on the opportunity, form and mode of such incorporation. c) To establish an annual plan for the evaluation of health technologies in accordance with established criteria on the prioritisation of technologies to be evaluated. d) To issue opinions on criteria and degree of utilisation and/or disinvestment of health technologies in the population of the Province, in accordance with the available evidence and the demographic and epidemiological characteristics of that population. e) To issue opinions on the incorporation or disinvestment of health technologies that involve medical equipment, population screening tests, according to local demographic, epidemiological and georeferencing criteria. f) To promote evaluation products of health technologies such as full evaluations, partial evaluations, horizon-scanning reports, adaptation or generation de novo of clinical practice guidelines, systematic reviews in order to support decision-making. g) To assist and collaborate with health insurance agents in the establishment of the set of preventive, care and long-term care services for the best management of the health of the Province’s population. h) To collaborate in ensuring that the health technologies incorporated comply with the evidence collected and recommended, in order to integrate the management of funders, providers and those responsible for coverage in health. i) To establish channels of communication and integration among the actors involved, such as producers, funders, providers, insurers, users, researchers, civil society organisations and provincial and national technical bodies, in relation to health technologies. j) To promote training actions and technical assistance related to health technologies, their rational use, directed to health teams, the community and decision-making levels such as the Health Authority, the Legislative Power and the Judicial Power. k) To intervene and attend to any process that involves health technologies intended for the population and their utilisation and/or indication in health-disease-care processes. l) To carry out any other action or management necessary to exercise the powers of its competence.
How the Agency Works
AETS Mendoza works with an annual planning as a government agency, in relation to Ministry of Health of Mendoza, Social security of Mendoza. AETS-Mendoza has agreements with other agencies, stakeholders, and they are part of RedETSA (WHO).

AETS-Mendoza’s reports are freely available, public access on the website www.aets.com.ar
AETS-Mendoza’s activities include webinars, forums, and statements on HTA from a local perspective.
