I believe this is a particularly important year for INAHTA. Internally, we are navigating a transition within our secretariat, which brings change and requires thoughtful planning. To me, the secretariat is the backbone of our network; it provides the structure, resources, and capacity needed to deliver on our priorities and to support the interests of INAHTA members. As we move through this transition, it’s essential that we think strategically about how to build on the strong foundation we already have and how to position the secretariat to support our growing network in the years ahead. Strengthening this capacity will be key to meeting the evolving needs of our members.
Externally, we are operating in a world where the values and systems that support evidence‐based decision‐making are under increasing pressure. I recognize that HTA agencies face very different contexts; some are long‐established, while others are newer and still building capacity. Regardless of where they sit, a shared commitment to evidence‐based decision‐making is what grounds the role and function of HTA. Because of this, I believe it is an important moment for INAHTA to amplify its voice, uphold the value of HTA, and continue positioning itself in ways that reflect and support the needs of its members.
INAHTA is a truly unique network. As our network moves through this period of transition, we have a window of opportunity to build on our strong foundation both through the secretariat and through our membership. I hope we continue evolving in ways that reflect the priorities, values, and needs of our members in a changing world.
