INAHTA Chair (2026-2028)
INEAS, Tunisia
I am honoured to have been elected Chair of INAHTA for the 2026-2028 term. In this role, my vision is to consolidate INAHTA as the global anchor for policy-relevant HTA. This will be built on three strategic priorities:
1- Strengthening collaboration and delivering greater value for members
HTA agencies operate in increasingly complex health systems. They face rapid technological developments, such as AI and digital health, pressure for early access to innovation, economic constraints, and growing expectations for transparency and value. Addressing these challenges requires close cooperation across agencies and disciplines, making collaboration essential. INAHTA’s strength lies in the diversity of its members’ health systems, experiences, and perspectives, which provide a strong foundation for peer-to-peer learning. I am committed to leveraging this cooperation by strengthening existing dialogue platforms, enabling opportunities for advanced methodological discussions, and supporting joint reflection on emerging topics. This will ensure agencies are better equipped to address the challenges facing today’s health systems.
2- Reinforcing connections between emerging and mature HTA systems
My professional journey has placed me at the interface between emerging and well-established HTA systems. Through my involvement in capacity-building initiatives in regions where HTA is still being institutionalized, I have observed the strong demand for high-quality capacity building. This creates a clear opportunity for INAHTA to play a more structured role in that field. By promoting mentorship pathways and facilitating knowledge exchange, the network can support developing systems while drawing on the extensive expertise of its mature members. Such an effort is not only about supporting emerging systems. It is also about expanding the global influence of INAHTA members and promoting the robust methodological standards developed by leading agencies within the network.
3- Strengthening INAHTA’s scientific leadership and global influence
In a rapidly evolving global health landscape, it is crucial for INAHTA and its member agencies to maintain a robust scientific voice in international discussions that shape health policy. I am committed to ensuring that the network’s collective expertise contributes actively to global debates and supports methodological advancement and alignment where appropriate. By strengthening INAHTA’s visibility and scientific leadership, we can ensure that HTA agencies continue to play a pivotal role in promoting evidence-based decision-making worldwide.
