Aurelio Mejía, MSc
INAHTA Board Director (2017-2018)
Aurelio has a bachelor degree in Economics from Universidad de Antioquia (Colombia) and holds an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York (UK). He joined IETS in November 2012 as the first Deputy Director of HTA of the newly stablished Colombian institute of HTA and currently works as Advisor to the Institute’s CEO.
His 10-year experience focuses on cost-effectiveness and budget impact analysis, and has worked for the past 5 years with Colombian decision-makers to promote the use of evidence to inform decisions and raise awareness with different stakeholders about the role of HTA within the health system. He is co-author of the Colombian guidelines for cost-effectiveness and budget impact analysis and several peer-reviewed articles. He is also lecturer of health economics and cost-effectiveness analysis at several universities in Colombia.
Since 2013 Aurelio has attended INAHTA meetings and participated in several working groups.
Aurelio was appointed by the Board to complete the 1-year term vacancy left by Andy Chuck, PhD, after his departure from the IHE in 2017.
