Dr. Jeonghoon Ahn
INAHTA Board Director (2012 – 2016)
Dr. Jeonghoon Ahn is a research fellow and senior director at the National Evidence-based healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA), Seoul, Korea. In NECA, Dr. Ahn currently supervises the Office of Health Services Research.
Before joining NECA in April 2009, he worked seven years as an assistant professor of pharmaceutical economics and Policy at the University of Southern California (USC). He received his B.A. in International Economics (1992) and M.A. in Economics (1994, with an emphasis on Econometrics) from the Seoul National University, Korea, and Ph.D. in Economics (2000, with an emphasis on Health Econometrics) from the University of Southern California. From 2000 to 2002, Dr. Ahn was the DIA postdoctoral fellow in the pharmaceutical health services research program at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Dr. Ahn is currently a board member of the Korean Association of Health Technology Assessment (education director), the Korean Society of Health Policy and Administration, the Korean Society of Epidemiology, and the Korean Association of Health Economics and Policy (academic director). He also served as the Secretary of International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) Korea chapter 2010-2012 and ISPOR Asia Consortium Distance Learning & Onsite Training Committee 2010-2012 Chair. Dr. Ahn also contributed to forming a regional Health Technology Assessment network called the HTAsiaLink. Dr. Ahn has authored or co-authored articles appearing in American Heart Journal, Cancer, Journal of Affective Disorder, Medical Care, Pharmacoeconomics, Value in Health and many others. His current research focuses on economic modelling of various issues in Korea, applying mixed treatment comparisons methods, and econometric modelling on health technology assessment research.
Jeonghoon has been a member of the Board for the following terms: Director 2012-2014 and 2014-2016.
