Methods for cost-effectiveness analysis - an advanced workshop
This workshop will replace the ‘Advanced Modelling Methods for Health Economic Evaluation’ course scheduled on the same dates in Hua Hin, Thailand. Compared to the earlier course, the Nonthaburi workshop will consist of a different teaching faculty, a different location, changes in material covered and a different pricing structure. The course will be administered by the Thai Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP).
The workshop will be run by HITAP, specifically Dr Yot Teerawattananon and by Mark Sculpher (Professor of Health Economics, University of York, UK) and Andrew Briggs (Lindsay Chair in Health Policy and Economic Evaluation, Glasgow University, UK). Additional tutoring will also be provided by researchers at HITAP.
The course covers advanced concepts in cost-effectiveness modeling and is intended for people currently undertaking health economic evaluation within the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, consultancy, academia or the health service. It is also appropriate for those reviewing or preparing economic evaluation evidence for public health authorities.
The workshop will include a session presenting case studies of cost-effectiveness analyses undertaken in the UK and in Thailand with the purpose of providing insights into the choice of appropriate analytic methods and the value of such analyses for policy. The final afternoon will involve a session where participants are encouraged to present their own cost effectiveness models (completed, in progress or planned) to receive feedback from Faculty and other participants.
