Inger N. Norderhaug – INAHTA Director (2007–2009)

Inger N. Norderhaug
PhD, Research Director, NOKC, Norway

Inger Norderhaug serves as research director at the Norwegian Knowledge Center for the health services. She is a molecular biologist and has a PhD in immunology. Nine years ago, Inger changed from working in a laboratory to working with HTA. She feels privileged to work in a field that applies scientific findings to the healthcare sector. Inger has a particular interest in assessing new technologies, and represents Norway in the EuroScan collaboration on new and emerging technologies. Inger is also involved in the EUnetHTA project. Recently she has been teaching HTA through a university position.

Visions for INAHTA

My vision is not unique, but aims to continue the work already in progress to enhance international HTA collaboration and the sharing of information. This is important for two main reasons: we are challenged with the need for HTAs that cover the full life span of healthcare technologies (from birth to death), and we would all work more effectively if we could share rather than duplicate work (although we recognize the problem, we have yet to solve it). Sharing information throughout the network is, in my opinion, a key issue in meeting new challenges and strengthening each member agency.
